Find your audio and video settings
1. Click on "VSee" in the upper left-hand corner. (If you don't see this menu there, click on your own video tile, and the menu should appear.)
2. Select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu for a second window to appear.
3. Click on the "Audio" tab (with the microphone icon) to see your audio settings.
- If you hear a sound when you click the "Play Test Sound" button, then the selected output device (i.e., your speakers) is correct. If you don't hear any sounds, check to make sure that your computer volume is turned up high and try again, or click on the double-arrows to the right to choose another set of speakers (like your headset).
- If you see the "Input Level" change when you speak, then the selected input device (i.e., your microphone) is correct. If you don't see any green bars, click on the double-arrows to the right to choose another microphone.
4. Click on the "Video" tab (with the camera icon) to see your video settings. If you can see yourself, the selected device is correct. If you don't see yourself, click on the double-arrow to the right to choose another camera.
- Frame Rate determines the number of frames shown per second. We recommend leaving the default setting of Adaptive to prevent the video from pixelating during any lags in connection speed.
- Camera determines whether you are using this camera as your main camera (only applicable when multiple cameras are in use).
Mute your microphone or camera
1. Hover your mouse over your own video window (i.e., your own face), so that a panel appears at the bottom of it.
2. To mute or unmute your microphone, click on the microphone icon in the lower left hand corner. Below is an image of the microphone icon when it is on (left) and when it is muted (right):

Adjust your video resolution
1. Click on "VSee" in the upper left-hand corner. (If you don't see this menu there, click on your own video tile, and the menu should appear.)
2. Select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu for a second window to appear.
3. Click on the Video tab (with the camera icon) to see your video settings. Click on the double-arrows next to Resolution to change your resolution.
- If you want sharper quality, increase your resolution (to High or, if your camera supports it, HD).
- If you want to compensate for a slow or intermitten internet connection, decrease your resolution (to Default or Low).
